Ruhrtriennale is looking for extras for the production "Celebration Parade"

Celebrate when and where you can! For three days in a row we will be doing this in Essen, Duisburg and Bochum in the Landschaftspark, at Zollverein and in the Westpark, when a pair of elephants cross the Ruhr region together with their young. 

Instead of real elephants, life-sized artist-built creatures will explore the area. They are presented by the Handspring Puppet Company from South Africa, famous around the world for their fantastic creations (including War Horse and Little Amal), working here in collaboration with the Ukwanda Puppets & Designs Art Collective.

For the production, we are looking for extras who would like to be part of the parade in Duisburg, Bochum and Essen.
With a large parasol in your hand, you are an active part of the colourful event and accompany the parade dancing with good humour and energy. A very good physical condition and an infectious zest for life are important.
The umbrellas are made by the company and covered with traditional West African fabrics. The large, colourful umbrellas are also decorated with fringes that sway actively in the wind and movement.

Rehearsal: 28.08.2024, from 13-17 o'clock (Gelsenkirchen)

Performance dates:

29.08.2024 from 9-12.30am (Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord)

30 August 2024 from 9-12.30 am (Zollverein Essen)

31.08.2024 from 14-17.30 (Westpark Bochum)

You should be available for the rehearsal and all three performance dates. Participation will be remunerated. Accommodation and travel costs will not be covered. The minimum age is 18 years.
